Hello, I’m Christo, a second-generation Realtor working in the west GTA. I like to think I have a very holistic approach to selling real estate. I grew up watching both my parents work in sales: my mother sold residential real estate, and my father was in industrial sales.
Growing up, I saw how their businesses were aligned but very different as well. My mother’s business was more about what makes a home special, warm, and inviting, and my father’s business was more about what makes the most financial sense, or what is the best buy. Today, I draw on both of their backgrounds when I’m working with my clients. I want to help my clients not only find the home of their dreams, but I also want my clients to understand what home types and neighborhoods will help them build equity.
My real estate career started early. My first job was at Remax in 2009, working behind the scenes while attending University. I graduated from University in 2013, with a double major in English and Professional Writing. That same year, I started working with my mother, Janette, at a local real estate brokerage. In 2015, Janette and I joined Sotheby’s International Realty Canada as 50/50 partners.
I currently live in Toronto, and Janette lives in Burlington. Our business is very referral-based, and so while our target markets include everything between Toronto to Burlington, we are often found out in Hamilton, Scarborough, Vaughan, and sometimes even Grimsby; we go where our clients need us. We’re both members of the Regional Real Estate Board, as well as the Toronto Real Estate Board.
To be candid, Sotheby’s International Realty Canada was never on our radar. In 2015, Janette and I viewed a beautiful custom-built home being presented by Sotheby’s. We chatted with the agents, went home, and did some research, and we realized their marketing was so advanced compared to what we could achieve with a franchise like Royal LePage or Remax. The only way to compete with them would be to join them.
When it comes to brand representation and marketing, you might think it’s only important when it comes to selling your home. But being represented as a buyer by a reputable agent and an established brokerage can open doors not available to everyone, literally and figuratively.
Selecting me as your trusted agent means choosing someone who is committed to efficient communication, building trust, and negotiating a fair deal. I believe it’s a privilege to have the opportunity to represent clients when navigating real estate in the GTA. The market is not as simple as it looks, but together, we can make your real estate dreams come true!
